Restylane® Cosmetic Injections

About Restylane® Injections

Restylane® is a cosmetic dermal filler treatment that restores fullness and volume to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds (the folds from your nose to the corners of your mouth). It can also be used to enhance and create full, sexy lips.

Restylane® is made of hyaluronic acid. In the human body, natural hyaluronic acid provides volume and fullness to the skin. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane® is produced by a biotechnical process and has been modified slightly to last longer than the body’s hyaluronic acid.

Is Restylane® safe?

Restylane® is the most used, most studied cosmetic dermal filler, and has been used in over 70 countries and in more than 1.4 million treatments in the U.S. After treatment, you may experience some swelling, bruising, redness, and tenderness that can last up to seven days.

How long does Restylane® last?

Restylane® is proven to deliver long-lasting results. Studies have shown that Restylane® lasts for about six months.

Is Restylane® derived from animals?

Restylane® contains no animal proteins. This limits any risk of animal-based disease transmission or allergic reactions. No allergy testing is required before use.

What should patients do prior to treatment?

A few precautions should be taken before being treated with Restylane®. Prior to treatment, avoid using aspirin for 2 weeks , non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications (Advil or Ibuprofen ,Aleve and others ), St. John’s Wort, or Vitamin E supplements , for about one week because this may increase bruising or bleeding at the injection site. Also, if you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, discuss this with your doctor who may prescribe a medication to minimize recurrence.
